Field Effect has built our reputation on solving some of the most complex cybersecurity challenges to help the organizations we protect stay ahead of an ever-evolving threat landscape.
Now, we're helping them tackle one of the newest and fastest-growing risks: AI.
As AI adoption accelerates, the gap between AI usage and AI security continues to widen, creating new risks around compliance, data privacy, and sensitive information exposure that traditional cybersecurity tools weren't designed to address.
Field Effect MDR is closing that gap.
We are excited to introduce AI Detection & Response (AIDR), the first solution of its kind, built natively into a holistic, intelligence-grade cybersecurity platform. AIDR gives organizations and MSPs the visibility and control they need to embrace AI confidently, without compromising security.
AI adoption is already widespread across organizations, but visibility and governance have struggled to keep pace. How do we go about unlocking the benefits of AI use without exposing ourselves to undue risk?
According to Field Effect’s 2026 customer data:
Employees adopting AI isn't inherently risky. It becomes risky when organizations lack visibility into the behavior and impact of their AI tools or, worse, visibility into where or how it's being used.
AI is transforming how work gets done. Field Effect AIDR makes sure organizations can see it, govern its use, and benefit from it securely. Get a demo today.
And when employees adopt AI tools unbeknownst to their IT or security team, it's challenging to track which AI tools are active, what data is being shared, or how AI is being integrated into business workflows.
This then creates growing concerns around:
Field Effect's AI Detection & Response delivers the visibility, control, and intelligence that organizations and MSPs need to confidently embrace AI while keeping risk in check.
You can't govern what you can't see.
AIDR provides real-time visibility into AI adoption across your environment, helping security teams understand which AI tools are being used, who is using them, which tools are being connected, and where shadow AI is operating outside of policy.
This allows you to have informed conversations about AI governance, stop second-guessing, and start managing your risk.

Innovation without guardrails creates risk.
AIDR lets you decide which AI tools are sanctioned and which are blocked, so your organization can embrace productivity without unknowingly accepting new security, compliance, or data exposure risks.
Knowing what tools are being used is a great starting point. But understanding how those tools behave can help uncover potential risks and unintended activity.
AIDR helps you understand what AI tools are actually doing and how they’re impacting the environment to spot malicious and potentially rogue AI use.
AI introduces risk, even when it's working as intended.
AIDR applies zero-trust principles to AI-driven activity, giving you control over what AI tools can access, do, and influence within your environment.
That control is essential to preventing both malicious and rogue AI behavior.
With AIDR, organizations don’t have to choose between embracing AI and remaining secure. They have a reliable foundation they need to govern and secure AI with confidence.
With clear visibility into how AI is being adopted across the environment, security and IT teams can proactively address risk, compliance, and data loss—without standing in the way of innovation.
Rather than reacting to AI-related incidents after the fact, organizations can establish guardrails and governance best practices that keep pace with adoption, stay ahead of emerging threats, and make informed decisions about how AI fits into their security posture.
Field Effect MDR has always been engineered to stay ahead of AI-powered attacks. Now, the same solution keeping organizations safe from threat actors leveraging AI can ensure that AI itself doesn't become your next attack surface—no new tools, no new agents required.
AIDR is included as part of Field Effect MDR Complete, giving organizations a way to extend their security visibility to AI usage as adoption continues to grow.
You’re not adding another tool or managing another dashboard. You're extending the intelligence-grade security you already get with Field Effect MDR, expanding to cover the AI era, so your organization can adopt AI with confidence, not risk.

What is Field Effect AI Detection & Response (AIDR)? AIDR is Field Effect's new solution that gives organizations real-time visibility and control over AI tool usage across their environment. It's built natively into the Field Effect MDR platform, so there are no extra tools or dashboards to manage.
Why do organizations need AIDR? AI adoption is already widespread. Field Effect's 2026 data shows 93% of organizations have adopted AI, knowingly or not, and 26% are using six or more AI applications. Without visibility into which tools are in use, what data they're handling, and how they behave, organizations face real risks around data leakage, compliance, and unauthorized usage. AIDR closes that gap.
What risks does AIDR help address? AIDR helps organizations manage four key risk areas: data exposure and leakage through AI prompts and file uploads; regulatory and compliance risks from uncontrolled data sharing; unauthorized or shadow AI applications operating outside policy; and malicious or rogue AI behavior such as AI-enabled phishing, fraud, and social engineering.
Does AIDR require deploying new agents or tools? No. AIDR is built natively into the Field Effect MDR platform. Organizations don't need to install new agents or manage a separate dashboard, it extends the visibility and intelligence they already have.
How do I get access to AIDR? AIDR is included as part of Field Effect MDR Complete. If you already use MDR Complete, you can extend your security coverage to AI usage without any additional cost or tooling. You can also schedule a sneak peek with Field Effect to see it in action.
Is AIDR available for MSPs? Yes. AIDR is designed for both organizations and MSPs, giving managed service providers the same visibility and control capabilities to help their clients embrace AI securely.
