Senior Security Analyst

Sean Alexander

Sean has over 13 years of experience as a software developer and analyst in cybersecurity. His endeavours have covered: endpoint & network sensors, cross-platform agent frameworks, vulnerability research, malware analysis, build systems, test automation & orchestration, data mining, and machine learning.

A graduate of Queen's University with a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Electrical & Computer Engineering, his research delved into counterintelligence frameworks to aid in stealth investigations of advanced threat actors. Sean was a founding member and team lead of the Queen’s Network Security team and he has participated in the Cyber Defense Exercise (CDX) with the Royal Military College of Canada’s team.

While completing his MSc, Sean joined CSE where he spent nearly 4 years honing his skills, eventually leaving to join the ranks of Linchpin Labs and finally landing at Field Effect. As one of the original team members of Field Effect, Sean has played an integral role in the design and implementation of the various technologies that underpin Field Effect's core foundations.
