Field Effect Covalence platform delivers easy, cost-efficient way to monitor, detect, and respond to SME cyber security threats.

According to IDC research, two-thirds of Canadian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) lack the tools to continuously monitor for cyber threats.

Our team at Field Effect is focused on changing this. No matter the size of your business, you should have access to affordable and effective ways to monitor, identify, and respond to the threats targeting your operations.

Our partners agree.

TELUS, one of Canada’s largest telecommunications companies and a managed security services provider (MSSP), recently joined our partner program with a shared goal of improving cyber security for SMEs. Working with our team, TELUS has debuted a new Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution that is specifically targeted to the needs of mid-market companies and relies on the functionality of our Covalence threat detection and incident monitoring platform. Now TELUS can bring MDR’s advantages to SMEs and better support the goals and needs of these businesses.

Advanced solutions like MDRs have typically been reserved for the big IT budgets of larger enterprises. MDRs can also be too complex for SMEs to deploy and manage. By integrating with our Covalence solution, TELUS customers now have access to an easy-to-use solution, priced for small business budgets, that effectively monitors, detects, and responds to threats to their networks, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

What is Managed Detection and Response (MDR)?

By integrating cyber security threat monitoring and detection with threat intelligence and automation technologies, MDRs provide a fully managed and automated service that enables monitoring and the ability for businesses to receive alerts about vulnerabilities and potential threats to remediate issues. As a managed service, MDRs can also provide customers access to cybersecurity teams for round-the-clock support.

Most SMEs have never considered MDRs or understood the advantages for their operations. Monitoring solutions can sometimes be too complex to configure, deploy, manage, and respond to the information provided. Even if the monitoring is fully managed for a company, the customer still needs a way to respond to the alerts being generated.

In the case of the TELUS MDR service, SMEs gain both the detection and response capabilities, with actionable insights to quickly mitigate attacks, easily and cost-effectively.  And coupled with the advantages of the TELUS Security Operations Center (SOC), the TELUS MDR service alleviates the burden of managing technology and provides 24/7 monitoring and support.

TELUS MDR service powered by Field Effect

Using our Field Effect Covalence network, endpoint, and cloud threat detection, monitoring, and analysis platform, the TELUS MDR service gains our advanced technology and insights as well as our proven, functional design.

Covalence brings several unique advantages to the TELUS MDR service, including our proprietary threat intelligence, machine learning, behavior analysis, and required actions, recommendations and observations (AROs) reporting. These are integrated and analyzed across a customer’s networked systems, platforms, endpoints, and cloud platforms in real-time for a powerful result.

Because we designed Covalence to be as flexible as possible for any business IT environment, MDRs using our Covalence functionality are designed to complement existing systems and deploy easily. The TELUS MDR service can get up and running in minutes with cloud monitoring and detection immediately available to start protecting your business. Through sensors and endpoint agents installed at a TELUS customer’s premise and on devices, network traffic is analyzed using our Covalence analysis and threat detection capabilities, providing real-time understanding of the health and hygiene of your IT environment.

Customers also gain the value of the TELUS 24/7 SOC. The result?  SMEs gain an expertly-managed and continuous end-to-end threat and vulnerability detection capability that provides actionable insights to secure networks.

What are the benefits to your business?

The compelling aspects to our integration with the new TELUS MDR service are the insights and expertise we can provide based on our decades-long track record of monitoring, analysis, and incident response.

Partnerships like this improve access to security for a greater number of business networks and enable continual product innovation to help businesses build safer, more resilient operations – benefits we can extend to all Field Effect customers and partners worldwide.
